Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the importance of long-term ecological sustainability to protect the Earth's natural resources for future generations. Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 in the United States, and April 22 or the day of the spring equinox in other countries. Earth Day, first observed on April 22, 1970, was organized by Senator Gaylord Nelson to raise awareness about ecological sustainability and inspire action to protect natural resources.

The theme for Earth Day 2025, OUR POWER, OUR PLANET, calls on people worldwide to unite behind renewable energy and work toward tripling the global generation of clean electricity by 2030.
